The mission of the Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at Florida Orthopaedic Institute Research Foundation is to facilitate improved patient care through musculoskeletal educational activities that maintain, develop and/or enhance the knowledge, skills and professional performance in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal care.
Purpose
The CME office encourages the continuing professional development of physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals by offering an array of activities to assist with expanding their knowledge of medicine and implementation of new treatments. Activities will be planned to provide new technology, enhance existing knowledge and skills, and when appropriate, encourage change in practice behaviors to improve patient care.
Content
The content of the activities sponsored by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute Research Foundation CME program include, but not limited to:
- Provide educational activities that supplement and enhance the knowledge and skills of the musculoskeletal healthcare provider.
- Provide quality continuing medical education activities on medical advances in clinical practice, research, technology and other relevant topics based on evidence based medicine and needs assessments.
- Offer educational content that is scientifically rigorous, balanced, objective and independent of any commercial influence.
- Provide national and international educational activities led by prominent physicians in their field of expertise.
- Meet or exceed the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
